studio request policy for non-department persons or groups

Dance studio use is governed by the Department of Dance. Studio use priorities are for department classes, dance major and graduate student course work and class project rehearsals.

Requests for space use by non-department groups or persons must be in writing and directed to the Facilities Manager in the Department of Dance at dance@osu.edu or by calling 614-292-7977. Non-department facility use requires approval by the department Chair. There are university and non-university rental rates for each studio.

If any non-department group or persons are in department spaces without a space permission letter from the Chair’s Office, they will be asked to leave by a department designated person or the OSU Police Dept.

The studio reservation policy and request form can be found here.

Written space requests must include:

• purpose
• group or person shoes/equipment
• number of people involved dates and times
• beginning and ending dates of space need

The request is then given to the Chair of the department for approval. Notifications of approval will then come from the Facilities Manager.

If space rental is approved, the fiscal officer of the department will provide a rental contract. Contracts must be signed and a deposit submitted before space use.
