Synchronous Objects recognized by I.D.’s Annual Design Review

Faculty members Maria Palazzi (Design/ACCAD) and Norah Zuniga-Shaw’s (Dance/ACCAD) project Synchronous Objects has been awarded a Design Distinction Award in by I.D. Magazine’s 2010 Annual Design Review. Created by a collaborative, interdisciplinary team of artists, designers, dancers and scientists at OSU, Synchronous Objects reveals the interlocking systems of organization in the choreography of William Forsythe’s One Flat Thing, reproduced (2000) through a collection of information objects in the form of computer animation, generative graphics and interactive tools.

The Annual Design Review recognizes the best in product, furniture, graphic, interactive and environment design. The featured work is chosen by a jury of leading practitioners, who, along with I.D.’s editorial team, focus the abundance of submissions into a clear survey of the state of design.

The award winning project is featured online in the 2010 Annual Design Review and was showcased during the 2010 I.D. Annual Design Review Exhibit from August 30-September 10 at the AIGA National Design Center on 164 Fifth Avenue in New York City.
